Qualifying Window Opens September 1, 2022
Registrations Begin in September
The Boston Athletic Association (BAA) has announced that the qualifying window for the 2024 Boston Marathon will open on September 1, 2022. The qualifying window will remain open until 5:00 PM ET on the day of registration. The registration date has not yet been announced.
To qualify for the 2024 Boston Marathon, runners must achieve a qualifying time in a BAA-sanctioned marathon between September 1, 2022, and the day of registration. The qualifying time standards vary depending on age and gender.
The qualifying times for the 2024 Boston Marathon are:
- Men: 3:00:00 for ages 18-39
- Men: 3:05:00 for ages 40-49
- Men: 3:10:00 for ages 50-59
- Men: 3:20:00 for ages 60-69
- Men: 3:30:00 for ages 70 and older
- Women: 3:30:00 for ages 18-39
- Women: 3:35:00 for ages 40-49
- Women: 3:40:00 for ages 50-59
- Women: 3:50:00 for ages 60-69
- Women: 4:00:00 for ages 70 and older
Runners who have achieved a qualifying time in a marathon that is not BAA-sanctioned may still be able to qualify for the 2024 Boston Marathon. However, they must submit their qualifying time to the BAA for review and approval.
The 2024 Boston Marathon will take place on Monday, April 15, 2024. The race will start in Hopkinton, Massachusetts, and finish in Boston, Massachusetts.
